Our Values
Core Values
Death is Ours to Reclaim. Deathcare doesn’t belong to corporations, governments, or institutions—it belongs to individuals, families, and communities. We empower people to take death and grief back into their own hands.
Grief is a Communal Act. Modern culture isolates the grieving, but throughout history, mourning was shared. We work to restore grief as a collective experience, helping communities show up for each other in times of transition.
Ritual is Resistance. Creating and reclaiming ceremony—whether ancient, personal, or newly invented—is a radical act of care and autonomy. We honor the power of intuitive, non-traditional, and deeply personal rituals to mark life’s endings and transformations.
There is No One Right Way. Every person and community deserves the freedom to grieve and honor death in a way that reflects their values, identities, and histories. We are here to provide knowledge and support—not rules.
The System MUST Be Questioned. The modern funeral industry is a product of capitalism, colonialism, and patriarchal control. We challenge the idea that there is only one acceptable way to handle death and grief.
Healing is Found in Honesty. Facing death openly, rather than hiding it behind sterile, commercialized processes, allows for real connection, transformation, and healing. We help people have the hard conversations and make choices that feel true to them.
Laughter is the Best Medicine. We honor the gravity of this work — and we also invite laughter, joy, and a touch of irreverence.Coming together in community can be sacred and serious — and also deeply human and joyful. Death care is profound, but it doesn’t have to be heavy at every turn.
A Note on Inclusivity
We work with people across many walks of life, especially those who are queer, trans, polyamorous, and neurodivergent—identities we hold or are deeply connected to ourselves.
This work is grounded in values of radical acceptance, bodily autonomy, and mutual care.
We ask that all clients share a commitment to creating an affirming and respectful space for everyone we serve.
